We are excited to launch our first annual Liberal Arts Humanities Forum (LAHF) on April 30th; this co-curricular event is an exciting way for students to gain experience and to share out their work they are already doing in your classes publicly. Our committee only asks that you as faculty coach students for a public forum. We ask students to connect the ideas learned in your course with the Pikes Peak Community College topic, Quality of Life: Happiness, Health, and Wellbeing.
Since we are still in a middle of a pandemic, students will have an opportunity to present their work in two formats: live presentation format in ZOOM or through an online submission in collaboration with the EXPO and Parley. In the live ZOOM sessions, students will also have an opportunity to attend breakout sessions with other students.
We ask that students submit their entries by Friday, April 23rd in order for our committee to have time to display the students’ work in an online format, and to organize the ZOOM event. All the student needs to do is the following:
- Use the approved LAHF template, if appropriate. If a performance piece (like a podcast with poetry or a video of performance art), email us your intent, and we will follow up on additional instructions.
- Email their work using to LAHF@ppcc.edu by April 23rd.
- Be prepared to attend on April 30th if they choose to present live.
Attached you will find the template.
We are excited to have you be a part of this event. It’s open to all disciplines within and with connections to the Humanities and Liberal Arts: philosophy, history, humanities, literature, art history, music, theater, dance, sociology, communication, photography, graphic design, ethnic studies, social work and English… and much, much more.
